Angry Stolen car recovered- Now I have some questions

I just recovered my stolen s5 tII after 3 1/2 weeks. Cost me 400$ to get it out of storage and to top it off I had to call the cops to see if they recovered my car!
But anyway the jerk thiefs used a screwdriver to pry off the drivers door handle. Gouging the living crap out of my door, he left 6 or 7 huge screwdriver dents around the door handle. Then as if that wasn't bad enough they broke out the ignition switch (the back part, not the key cylinder) and used that to hotwire my car. So my question is can I just replace the ignition switch if the key cylinder is ok, and are all fc3s ignition switches the same? if they are I can buy one cheap on ebay.

Thanks in advance Mad as hell in oakland, Ca

are you talking about the "pig tail" that comes out of the left side of the stearing column? If that is what you are talking about then yes they are interchangeable with pretty much all 2nd gens IIRC. You should be able to get this used on this site for like 10-15 bucks plus shipping. Mine was bad so my car wouldn't start, I bought a new one a vuala! Good luck.
