Henrik, my readings were the same as yours. It would be my guess that there is a booster gap inside the coil to ground or +12V. There has to be, since there is no other reference point to push against. And, the trailing plugs do fire, so it is reasonable that spark is finding a path - and it cannot be to the other coil, there is no connection. Anyway, that is my guess - I don't have a spare trailing coil to dismantle. Have fun!

Thanks Hailers - i'm learning much more about ignition and timing lights than I ever thought I would...
Irv, thanks for the sentiments. Now I have a weekend task... I think I'll start with scoping the triggers for the leading and trailing and then see if I can see the spark line by scoping the output of the timing light pickup. Will post results when available!

Guys,
For those of you that have been following this, here are some new observations:
1.) The timing light will light up for a second or two on L2 while the engine is accelerating but flashes intermittently at constant speeds or idle.
2.) According to other posts both L1 and L2 are supposed to fire at the same time but I can't see the timing marks when using L2, I only see the lines on L1.
3.) When the car is making good boost you can hear the turbo spool up at low revs (2400 RPM or so), when it's not making good boost you don't hear it at all.
4.) The good boost mode is accompanied by a rock steady idle, the low boost mode still idles good but it's about 100 - 200 RPM slower and there is an itermittent miss.
Any ideas???????

OK guys...one more question. IF there is only one coil that fires both the leadings at the same time then why can't I see the timing marks when the timing light is hooked up to L2 (it's in perfect time when using L1)?
