Stock IC into FMIC
I've been wondering if it would be possible to put the stock TMIC for an S4 in the front of the car to make it a fmic, then use (for temporary use only) the flexible exhaust tubing as piping? Would it have any affect on performance/cooling until I was able to get a FMIC?
Would boost be able to be increased at all? What are the pros and cons?
thanks

1.3L is not that small
i dont think it will be worth the time and effort to do this... just leave it where it is becuase im sure with that flexible tubing being so long to get to the TB will damage the performance and cooling ability of the intercooler... just a thought

thats what i was thinking, but i couldnt decide if the cooler temp. on the IC would win over the longer distance to travel... also, would it be any help to heat wrap the tubing?

people have welded 2 stock TMIC's together and put them as a front mount and it works good, so its the same ****. i have an extra IC and i took the rivets that hold the top and bottom plates on, off of it... and i was also going to try it, it cant hurt anything, go ahead and try!

just leave your top mount alone, and DONT get a bigger turbo, they are both good enough to support up to 400rwhp, focus on other mods, like fuel, or rebuilding and porting your motor.

well the fuel is already being done, and i really dont want to tear my engine apart. The stock turbo can support 400rwhp???? THat i didnt know.
A questino i have about welding the 2 intercoolers together.... do you just weld them together, or do you need to partly take them apart, and then make it into one intercooler?
thanks
