Steel Braid Fuel line Help!!!!
okay so my project is coming to an end soon. Thats right it's almost done....My TurboII is almost bck on the streets......
I have an opportuinity to get some steel braided lines made at a local shop for a great price as the products are being closed out. So since my motor is out of my car and I am not going to be dropping it in for a couple more weeks I was wonderig if anyone had some measurements I could use to get some Steel braded lines made up......
I can't find my stock fuel lines anywhere in my garage, so any one that has either the stock ones in hand or has some aftermarket ones drop some info for me..
I just need to know the legnths..
What else should I get done in steel braided line while I'm at it?????
I already put down some cash on the oil lines and the clutch line......Did I miss anything???????
Ishould probably do the power steering high pressure line while I'm at it now that I think about it......

is there any other fuel filter that would work on my TurboII that uses banjo bolts to bold the fuel lines in, as opposed to the standard one where the fuel line slips on over the tube exiting the filter........I just want to do this to clean up the appearance under the hood...

You should use AN style fittings on the stainless line, not banjo bolts. Check out Summit Racing, they have a big selection of fittings and stainless line. They also have some kits that include fittings and line to get you started. Its so much cleaner to get the right fittings and run the same throughout the car.

I use this little sucker... works great, can be mounted about anywhere.. has -6an ins and outs and uses replaceable stainless filters.. Its a Golan filter but i think there are similar ones out there.

would it be possible to screw one of those ports on that FPR into the end (closer to the front of the car) of my rx7store.net fuel rail? i have -6 male fittings on the ends of my fuel rail, if i got some female fittings for that fpr can i just bolt it right onto the end of the rail?
anybody else have any pics of their fuel setup with an FPR?

Yeah AN fittings were actually what I was thinking of..........They would look much better......
I found a filter by Venom that I might use, a buddy has it on his 215whp Integra GSR........It should withstand my usage of it....and its not very expensive.

Hey thats a super clean looking setup man...I mean it's clean like I don't see ant grease or oil ....hahah......I am a big fan of mandrel welded piping or what ever that style is called....

I see two tubes sticking out of the middle of the top of the front cover....
Also what ECU are you running on your setup???

I´ll be running a Davies Craig electric water pump instead of the stock one.
So the tubes will be connected to two pipes, hopefully the setup would be finished this weekend and I could snap some pics if you want?
The ECU is a Microtech LT10S with a X4 ignition box.

Is crimping the ends onto a steel braided line something I can do myself with any tools that might be sold to do it????
Or is it recommended that I haev a shop that deals with steel braided lines do it.
The reason I am asking is I was considering, if it were possible, buying a length of hose, in each diameter I would be needing and all the fittings then just sitting and cutting to length as I go along. Is that possible???????

By NHRA rules, you have to have a remote kill for the battery when its mounted in the bins... I'll be damned if I'm drillin a hole in the rear of the car to mount the handle and then running pull cable the whole way up to the passenger hatch.. F' Dat.
Draggin your street car more than every once in a while is a REAL bad idea in my book.... its an expensive ride home in a tow truck!!!
I'm starting first gen project v-8 car that will pass all the NHRA specs so that i can race it on sundays....... It will also have to be trailered to the track!!!!!!

If you are talking about crimping a banjo style fitting to a steel braided line... take that **** to a hydraulic shop and have THEM do it.. It does require a special tool (one that I've never worked with!!!)
If you are converting everything to -an fittings.. you can put those hose ends on yourself.. its no big deal, its just a PITA, but worth it in my opinion. You just need a vice and a couple of wrenches (I put masking tape over the hose ends before i hit 'em with the wrench to keep 'em from getting all bitched up!
