Std. Compression Tester with rotary Question

Ok, designed for a piston engine, yada yada yada... What about this: If you held down the relief valve on the tester while you cranked the engine, couldn't you feasibly get a reasonable compression test out of it? How accurate would it be? Has anyone tried this? Fill me in!
