Question Starting Problem

Hey guys,..

yeah so i bought my 86 s4 like a week ago, and began to work on the engine and strip everything out...

problem: wont start.

when i bought it, it was a car that sat outside for half a year, and didnt have a battery, fuct up fuse, and cut wires, no alternator belt, needed a hella bad oil change, and 3 flat tires. so basically no power could get distributed through out the car. Got the car with 128k miles.

so basically while im working on it, the coolant was dead, i think the previous owner used water or something, rust in the hose, and liquid was clear or something.

And so i worked on it, got a new set of belts, reconnected the wires, and got a battery, and replace the messed up fuse.

The car turned on, when i pressed the clutch something began to spin or something, and the motor or the fan began to spin. thing is the motor doesnt start. im like wtf

could it be the alternator? the spark plugs look clean, although i havent taken them out. the alternator seem like it have some sort of burns or burned crusts or something near the pulley... i dont know whats going on, im not use to working on old cars. i need to get my car up and running..please help..

thanks
