Starter Not Cranking After Emissions Removal and Battery Rewire
Well, I removed a lot of the emissions from my car. Actually almost all.
At the same time, I also re-did the wiring from the battery.
I have a 2 gauge going from both the + and the - to the starter. The - going to the bolt that holds the starter on the engine. And then I have the + going to where the old + went.
There are a couple of sensor wires that aren't connected in the engine bay. They need to be re-done. Many cracked and showing wire. But there is one I can't figure out. It is a black with yellow stripe. I don't remember where it connected. Any ideas? Also, when I turn the ign. to start, I hear the pump going, but I don't hear the starter clicking or anything. So I am thinking it has to do with the inter-lock switch.
It looks like all the switches are connected to the starter. I just don't know where that black / yellow goes. The other ones I don't have connected are my oil temp sensor, and oil pressure sensor.
thanks!

It is the black / yellow, probably 10 gauge or 12 gauge. Has a little clip on the end of it. Looks like the clip on the other side of the car that attaches to a ground on the firewall.
It isn't the normal wire that runs from the battery to the starter, I replaced that one.
Is there anything else in the car that would stop it from starting? I am not even getting the starter to crank, so I am starting with all the wiring to that.

There should be three wires connected to the starter: thick ground, thick +, and the smaller solenoid wire. The solenoid wire is either black/white, or black/yellow and has a clip on the end that matches the spade on the starter solenoid.

You've lost the power supply from the MAIN fuse to the ignition switch. You undid SOMETHING, I know not what. It's a black wire that is located three or four inches below the engine fuse box and has a single connector. Feeds the ignition switch and from there the starter circuit.
The above is incorrect IF you turn the key to ON and HAVE idiot lights in the warning cluster.

Ok. The problem was what Aaron said. I spent a good amount of time looking around in the engine bay, and noticed the little metal tab on the solenoid that wasn't connected to anything. With my DMM i noticed with the key trying to start the car, voltage would jump on the black / yellow wire. So, I figured it probably went there. So, I connected it and the starter worked.
Doh....
P.S. Heh, then it wasn't starting. Not enough CCA. Old battery from 8 years ago....
Bought a new one and it started first try!
Thanks again guys!
