Sputtering....

Ok so its getting to be pretty cold out in the mornings and lately when i start up my t2 is sputters pretty bad for about a minute then runs fine. But starting today it was a little worse on start-up and now when maintaining speed it does it too... upon acceleration, deceleration, and idle it runs fine but when i try to hold it at a constant speed it runs like ****, sputtering and jumping..It almost feels lik an out of time piston motor but it doesnt constantly run like that, only when maintating speed.. I'm thinkin it may be a dirty fuel filter and possibly injectors but then i wonder why isn't running like **** the whole time i am driving it.. any ideas? it doesnt feel very healthy at all.

I had pretty much the same problem. for me i couldnt go up past 3500rpms. cuz it would jump n sputter n jus hesitate like a bitch so i couldnt go any faster always having to shift early to run ok. for me it was the secondary injectors and my TPS adjustment was a lil off. but thts my thought

im no professional when it comes to rotaries but what i learn is what i keep u kno.

my mech told me my problem n i trust em cuz hes been workin on rotaries since like the rx3 or even earlier.

Tried starting it this morning and it has gotten worse, so much that it almost stalls and let out a very loud backfire. This is my dd right now so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check to see if the butterflies in the TB open smoothly through the entire throttle range? I was thinking that maybe somewhere between idle and full throttle it is hanging up. The same could be said with the AFM. Make sure that the flapper moves freely through the entire opening range.

I could really use some input on my situation.. I'm almot certain its not the afm and im pretty sure the grounds are fine aswell seeing that my car is pretty mint and all the other wiring is perfectly intact.. it feels like its choking and at idle it runs so shitty that i gotta keep my foot on the gas or it will stall and once in a while it will go back to idlin normal and sit at 2k for maybe 5 seconds then go back to running shitty again and popping a couple backfires.
