Split air pipe disconnected, car won't start

If my split air pipe is disconnected/blocked off, will my car not start? Just curious because I took off the convertors and just have the exhaust manifold hooked up. I was going to drive the car to the shop to get my exhaust done but ever since I removed the split air pipe, disconnected it from the catalytic convertor the car will not start and I get a beeping noise when I put the key on accesory. The car is a stock 88 rx7 n/a

It should start. If you have just the pipe off then you should be okay. But if you remove your air pump, then you won't be able to open your 5/6th ports. I believe that's how it works on an S4.

5/6th ports won't activate without backpressure.

We need to know what year model you have. S4 and S5 engines work very differently in regard to the air pump.
