spilt brake fluid, can it rust?

I was adding Dot 3 brake fluid earlier and got careless and spilled a whole bunch in the engine bay. There is a pool of it resting in a nook on part of the chassis inside the engine bay. I can't get to it with my lumberjack arms (j/k about the arms) so I'm worried if its going to promote rust just sitting there. Any thoughts?

It will peel the paint up and then it will rust brake fluid is corrosive stuff i don't think i have seen many rx7's without rust spots under the brake master cylinder. I am in the process of cleaning mine up and repainting.

it will melt the paint off. Spray it with something.

spray it with what? The only thing I can use right now is water, would that make it worse? I feel like uberpwndnoob

get a SPRAY Bottle..Fill it with some Water and a touch of Liquid Dish Detergent..Spray the Area..then Rinse it with a Spray of Water...DONE!

Always when you spill brake fluid, dont clean it with a rag, inmediately spray a lot of water. The water "cuts" the effect of the brake fluid. This also apply to the car's paint. If you do this quickly, damage would not occur. But, if you let the brake fluid to seat some time, you will get trouble. I learn that from a mechanic that specializes on brake systems.

a lil water that might make it worse... vs the brake fluid itself which will definitly make the paint wrinkle an shrivvel an crack an peel an at the end of the day look like the back of your 90 yr old grandmothers hand. its not pretty. i think if i was in a pinch with brake fluid on my paint id **** on it if thats all that was available at the time to dilute it. brake fluid is the worst

I had no water and I didn't have to pee so I just pooped on it
