speedometer help
hi guys
my speedometer hasnt been working so I took apart my dash and found it was disconnected..i reconnected it, and the problem still isnt fixed, and also, it is connected on the tranny...is there more to this that I am missing, do I have to align the cable when I am plugging it into the dash cluster? I just plugged it in and shoved it all back..also, do speedo cables break? it doesnt seem like much would break them but I don't know..
secondly, I know that my power steering computer is causing the ridiculously annoying beeping noise..but how do I stop it!? I can't figure out where the power steering computer is from the fsm...any tips on where it is?
thanks alot..

the beeping will stop when you plug in the speedo cable. The beeping is probably the power steering computer reporting that there is no speed signal.
It is very very easy to plug the cable in at the speedo and then knock it loose when re-installing the gauges, if you didn't get the cable all the way locked on.

Make sure u hear it clip in. Loosen it up on the tranny to get enough slack to get it on the gauge cluster good. Then tighten it up on the tranny.

the plastic gears that are inside the tranny broke on my car The new one I pluged in only lasted 900 miles before it went out again. Now I'm stuck with that damned beeping too. Not to hijack, but does anyone know where that beeper is in the dash so I can unplug the damn thing?
