speedometer cable question

Its a noob question, but I'm having problems with my speedometer, and I wanna make sure the connecter isn't loose, so where does the connecter end? Transmission? But where exactly? Thank you for your help!

it connects at the Cluster(behind the Speedo sort of thing..you have to pull the Cluster to get at it there),and it Sneaks from there,through the firewall and goes Down to the Driver's side of the transmission.I think it is a 17 or 19mm(using a wrench).That 10mm nut that you are "going to see"(if you ever get under the car),that holds the Speedometer Gear into the Transmission.you aren't worried about Taking that out/Off Unless you are running different size tires/wheels that make your car's speedo run at a higher or lower actual Posted speed.,then that part gets replaced with a Different speedo gear to Correct the Speed.
