speed bleeder sizing?
Hello,
I have an '88 GXL. I've seen a few people with speed bleeders in their sigs and was wondering if someone could tell me what size I need for the brakes and the clutch slave cylinder. (And yes, I already tried searching
)
Thanks!

Bringing this thread back from the dead.
Since speedbleeder's website (& summit racing) application chart is completly wrong for the heavy duty suspension (4 piston caliper fronts) here's the correct sizing & part #s to order. These are all the same, just different part #s.
I believe the TII, GTU-S, GXL, and Convertible have the heavy duty brakes.

Part # Thread Overall Length
639570 7mm x 1.0 34mm

Part # Item
RUS-639550 Brake Bleeder, Speed Bleeder, 8mm x 1.0 Thread, 34mm Overall Length, Steel, Pair
RUS-639570 Brake Bleeders, Speed Bleeders, 7mm x 1.0 Thread, 34mm Overall Length, Steel, Pair

SB8100 # M8 X 1.0 35.54
SB7100 # M7 X 1.0 35.15
How it works:
You replace the original Mazda bleeder valve in the caliper with speedbleeder's spring-loaded one-way ball and check valve design. This unique design opens to allow the old fluid and air out, then closes automatically between pumps (bleeding with the brake pedal) to prevent the old fluid and air from re-entering the line.
Features:
Patented thread sealing system seals the threads when the bleeding operation is performed, preventing air from being sucked back into the system.
Requires only one person to bleed brakes.

The bottom bleeders on the rear calipers aren't normally used, so you don't really need to replace them. I've had fade in the rear and have never touched the bottom bleeders and I've got a rock hard pedal. Don't bother.
