My 87 TII came with 4" speakers in the dash and in the rears.

For me to go larger in the rear I would need some adapters such as these on ebay: 5x7/6x9 Adapters

crutchfield.com

when I get some more cash to replace all of the system, headunit and speakers thats where Ill be going cuz theyre a great resource for the little things other stores nickel and dime you for, and they just throw it in there if you tell em what car you have.

But I believe they will fit w/ adapters

Crutchfield.com sells adapters to put 5.25, 6.5 or 6.5S speakers in the rear towers. They also sell wiring harness adapters & a high quality Dual DIN radio mount kit. So no cutting into the harness.

Note you'll either need to seal the rear towers to prevent air leaks or buy some foam baffels to put the speaker in before screwing it down.

Yeah you will need some type of mounting adapters for them to mount right.

I have the stock individual rear speaker amps which do not do well for swapping in other speakers, I cant say much for others but it would be best to get a mounting adapter

I'm going to be mounting 8" rockford fosgate subs in the rear towers, according to my measurments they should fit with about an inch to spare depth wise and the opening is wide enough.

8" fits perfectly, you just ditch the internal plastic junk and mount directly to the tower.

I've already bought speakers (Size:5 1/4) and seem to have trouble installing them...Do I need the Mazda Brackets?

Mazda Brackets

Also how do I connect? It doesn't seem like a Plug and Play do I need to cut the wires out?

Another question, If I bought 5 1/4 for the doors would I need adapters again?

5 1/4 are a little small for the rear (and the doors)... you would need some adapters.

Don't waste your money putting speakers in the back.
It's a royal waste of money, and the sound gets all messed up putting a speaker in those positions.

Save your cash and spend more on your front speakers or a bigger / better amp.
