spark plug wire placements
i was changing my sparkplugs and since then i have been getting popping from my exhaust, not i double checked the plugs and they were right but i have 1 of the wires may be on the wrong plug. is that possible, would the car even run if one of the plugs were in the wrong spot,
like maybe out of the 2 trailing plugs, they are swiched,
can sumone right out a small guide to which wire from which coil going on which plug,
there are no white marks so that why it's difficult.
please and thankyou

Only if you switch T1 and T2 or T1 and L2 (or vice versa)...
Switching L1 and L2 does nothing.
Switching L1 and T1 does very little - same with switching L2 and T2.
Look on top of the coil packs - they are labeled.

could it cause the popping though, placing the wires in the wrong order, i guess it's like misfiring, and no i cant see any lables,
the plugs are in the correct holes thats for sure,
the popping did not occure before i changed the plugs

if you look underneath your plugs it should be there. If that doesn't help you then the trailing is closest to the driver, leading is closest to the headlight. If your looking at it from top down the right plug is 1 and the left plug is 2.

Took a couple of pics...the molded letters on the leading are usually hidden by the wires, and the trailing facing the engine, so you may have missed them. Unless of course you're missing the covers with the letters, which pop off. Seen it before.

ok allow me to interject.. on my 89 n/a the trailing coils are not right.. I have to run the trailing coils to the opposite plugs in order for it to run ( i dont know why)... If I run it the way they are supose to the car wont even stay running.. I have heard of this one other time before I got my vert...
my 86 n/a is hooked up as it should be and runs great but not the s5 vert it is backwards on the trailing and correct on the leading and it runs great this way
