What year was the nice looking spare tire? The kinda chrome looking one. And how much they go for? Are they 4 or 5 lugs????

the aluminum Enki spares came on most of the S4 cars except the Sport and Base models (but funny enough was commonly found on the Luxury coupe as a 4 lug version).

Think they were on the 89-90 GTUs and all the 'verts as well.

 

All I know is, if you ever blow a spare tire, you have to order a new one from the dealer or find one off a junk rx7 in a junk yard....or off an MX-6

 

Aluminum Spare:

All 4 lug cars 1986-1988
All Turbo cars 1987-1991
1989-1990 GTUs

Steel Spare:

All 15" wheels cars 1986-1991, but I'm not sure about 1988 GTU or the convertibles. My guess would be that they had the aluminum 16" spare

 

my 87 gxl came with a black steely for a spare.

 

90 vert, orginaly came with a steel, replaced with Aluminum (they look alot better)
