Yo,
I'd recommend Recaro seats. That's all they do, is seats. I think they have it figured out. *grin*
I recommend the Recaro SRD seat.

At only $549, I think that's a small price to pay for a great seat.
I love the SRD! Especially in red.

If you are looking for a budget racing seat, I recommend taking a look at the Momo Rookie and Start seats. Both are FIA approved composite seats which sell for under $300. There are many other good brands of FIA racing seats, but these Momos are priced a little better. You can always go up the scale in quality, but obviously the price also goes up.

BTW, you need to get a racing harness along with the racing seats to take full advantage of their safety features. Also, the stock shoulder strap can rub on the racing seat, causing undue wear to your new investment.

In the event of a roll over wont your head get crushed due to the mobility issues with 5-point harnesses? So would I need a roll bar also?
I got the advice of not getting a 5-point harness without a roll bar from a auto-xer friend of mine. He said i'd die in a roll over and I should stick to the factory belts.

The roll cage issue does bring up a point though - The harness must mount to the floor if you do not have a roll cage, so keep that in mind when ordering the harness. Most auto safety vendors have a good staff which will help you choose the correct harness if you have any questions. Here is a good page which shows a lot of harness options:

BTW, I have the Safe-Quip standard twist kamlocks in my 1Gen, and TRW Sabelts in my 2Gen.

If your going to use a harness make sure its mounted properly. If its not, it could cuase you alot of harm in an accedent(spine compression, vertebre damage, etc...)
