Sounded like a bone breaking then no go??

I was wondering if you guys have any idea what the problem could be. I was messing around last night and launched at 6k rpm and when I dropped the clutch I heard a breaking sound *snap*, No grinding or vibration, engine still running fine, clutch has good feel to it, driveshaft is still connected, rear end sounded fine when towing it in. I can put it in any gear (manual tranny) and let out on the clutch and nothing happens, tried 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, nothing.

I need a new tranny or can it be repaired? Anyone had this experience.

410rwhp last dyno a year ago
retuned and it's faster now.

sounds like you burnt the clutch away, probably destroyed the thing. New will be about $300-400 for a decent disc/plate combo.

you hope you didn't scortch your flywheel to bad. goodluck

, alternatively, you may have just bent the clutch fork or something. You'll know when you drop the tranny either way.

You may have snapped the input shaft on the tranny...

Most likely, it can be repaird, but you are going to have to pull the tranny and have it overhauled.

You've got 410 RWHP? I'd agree that you snapped the input shaft. Whatever you broke, the trans is coming out. And I'll bet that you'll be snapping more of them in the future, dropping the clutch at 6K with 410 RWHP.

Anyone know if aftermarket makes a hardened shaft? It lasted several launches with drag radials, this was just on street tires.

Hmm wonder if it would be cheaper to just stick in a used tranny. Course may happen again with that.

HKS makes a 6 speed for the FC do they not?

is the flywheel was scorched then he would have most likely been thrown off ballance in the process. i agree with idea of the imput shaft.

How about the crossmissions. They're not straight cut dog gears.
But they're stronger than stock, and they make them in 1-3 gearsets and full 1-5 gearsets.
They have changed ratios.
And come with either a new input or output shaft, this I am not sure of.

I think theyre around $2500-3000 but not positive, all of this is from memory and my memory is a pile of **** haha

OS Giken, and i forget who else make them. Maybe Cusco. not sure.

You may want to check the throw out/clutch fork. If your lucky maybe you just bent/snapped it and it is no longer pushing the throw out bearing.

Why don't you pull the trans and confirm it before asking for WAG's.
