sound coming from clutch

anyone have any idea whats happening? been breaking in my new clutch for almost 280 miles now... went full throttle 4 times at interval to 6krpm to clear up carbon in the engine after 150 miles......

when the clutch is engage it gives a squeeky sound but when i depress the clutch to disengage it the sound will be gone? is this normal or am i in trouble?

might be the tranny input shaft bearing. Sounds are kinda hard to troubleshoot over the interweb.

When you take your foot off the clutch, the pressure plate holds the clutch disc against the flywheel. The clutch disc is splined to the tranny input shaft. Now that the flywheel is turning the clutch, the tranny also turns. If its got a bad bearing on the input shaft, this is when you'll hear it. In my experience, it is usually loudest in 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd, because that is when the tranny is under the biggest load. 4th and 5th gears have ratios that allow a little input to yeild a high output, so if you are cruising in those gears, it won't always be as noticeable, if you can even hear it at all. Like I said, its just a stab in the dark. It could be the pilot bearing or throwout bearing but the throwout bearing usually makes more noise when you press the pedal. You said you hear noise when you release the pedal. It could be the pilot bearing, but if it was replaced 150 miles ago, I don't think it went bad already unless it wasn't lubed properly. If it was installed wrong, you more then likely would have discovered that the first time you attempted to drive the car.
