Someone help before my T2 bursts into flames...

Alright, I have a grip o' problems:

A) The damn thing smells like gas, especially at WOT.
B) It refuses to idle.
C) I have been trying to get the timing adjusted, but nobody around here knows how to do it.
D) I get that wonderful popping/afterburn thing that we all know and despise.
E) I have a whine in the transmission that is there in every single gear, including reverse, and which kinda goes away with the clutch pedal depressed.
F) My boost is not so good.
G) My gear shift lever is very (as the wife puts it) "wiggly".

Any help?

First check your compresion, then look for fuel leaks and then check the timing?

Have you overfilled your Gear box with oil? i had a problem with my car's box i filled it up whilst the side was jacked up so i got a faulse level which made it wine like mad in the gears, to help with the slopy gear selector take the leaver out and add lots of grease/oil around the ball that goes in the box, it wont fix it but it wont get any worse.

Considered checking for fuel leaks? Jumper the test connector at the passenger shock tower (yellow plug) and set the key to "IGN". Look and listen carefully for leaks. Also, if you have an open exhaust, your car will smell like fuel.

B) It refuses to idle.
Lotsa reasons. Adjust TPS, check for vacuum leaks, test BAC valve.

C) I have been trying to get the timing adjusted, but nobody around here knows how to do it.
Leave it alone. It's fixed. If you've already moved the CAS, good luck getting it back until you fix the other problems.

D) I get that wonderful popping/afterburn thing that we all know and despise.
Related to all of the above, but for the most part, pretty normal to the rotary if the exhaust has been opened up.

E) I have a whine in the transmission that is there in every single gear, including reverse, and which kinda goes away with the clutch pedal depressed.
Bad bearings. Rebuild transmission. May just be low fluid, so check that first.

F) My boost is not so good.
Lotsa causes. But check vacuum leaks, suck wastegate, clogged exhaust. Dead turbo? Any side-side play in the turbine?

G) My gear shift lever is very (as the wife puts it) "wiggly".
Replace shifter bushings. See the FAQ at http://www.mazdatrix.com

Any help?
Try searching. All these are standard problems that have been solved thousands of times.

D) Can be caused by a failing/bad ACV test ala FSM @ www.fc3s.org .
F) Can be caused by a wide range of reasons, everything from shaft play to cracked manifold. Start with the simple and work your way up.
