Someone broke into my car.
Saturday night someone broke my passenger side window, and took my cd player and radar detector. For some reason, they left my cd case sitting there untouched. Luckily, I was going to put a better cd player in the car the on Friday, but I never got around to doing it. In the process, they broke the radio surround piece and the center a/c vent. Of course it rained yesterday, and I had to rig a plastic bag over the window to keep it dry. The first place I called today had a passenger side window for $40. Anyway, just wanted to share my experience and frustration with you guys. Some dumb bastard out there stole a $50 radar detector and a $100 cd player. It will cost me more than that just to fix the damages to the car. Oh well, thanks for listening.

Hey Zigg, where about did it get broken into? I live near you and my friends 97 Chevy Z71 just got broken into sunday when he was in the movies. They stole his $400 ecilpse headunit and his infiniti 12. But we put both his amps (total to about $600) under his back seat so they couldn't get to those. I hate theifts, why can't they just get a job and buy the **** they want.

It happend to me too...before I got a kick *** alarm installed. (factory alarm sux but I think thats why they didnt get anything besides my speakers). The funny thing was that when they popped the hatch they didnt know how to open it...they ended up breakin the RX7 emblem trying to lift it up from the rear instead of from the window. Even though they broke it, that kinda cracked me up

I'm really sorry to hear about your misfortune. That really sucks major ***. My Civic was broken into about 7 years ago and the dumbass took a $10 pink volleyball and left the digital CB radio (which was out of the dash and sitting in the floor behind the RF seat!)
btw: the reason they left your CD's is that those kinds of f***ing retards don't listen to Barbara Streisand. (j/k) Try to keep a positive attitude and if you find out who it was...give me a call. I'll help you break their f***ing legs. I hate thieves too. ---Jeremy

I'll share a story with you guys that you might find amusing. This is true.
A friend of mine decided to buy my old system consisting of two MTX 752 blue thunder amps, and two Orion XTR subs in a custom built box (very nice box with fiberglass inlay designs). A week later (no joke) after we installed it, he left the car (no alarm, 1997 honda accord) at his night school. Sure enough, it got broken into. They stole the subs, three amps, and to **** everyone off, cut the $40 pair of sheilded RCAs. No problem. Insurance pays my buddy, he pays me back the money he owes. Two weeks later... i decide i no longer like my dual kicker l7 10" square subs.... i decide to sell THOSE to him in my second custom box. Thinking that noone would be stupid enough to break into the same car in the same parking lot not too long ago, we installed it. Sure enough, two days later, same spot. Same jackass. Same car with no alarm. This time, they took everything except for the 4 gauge wire running to the back. CDs, Amps, Deck, Subs... even cracked both of the rear 6x9s (replaced under warranty LMFAO)... Incidentally, these theives went for a little spree and broke into two other cars in the same parking lot. Not smart since they were still there. Someone saw them, and called the cops. By the time the fat irish cop got there, the guys were on the run. He started chasing them. And as the bastard finished clipping all the wires to the amp, (this time we bolted it down good)... he ripped the amp off with a crowbar (mind you, the bolts didnt break... the mount on the amp did ), the cop was right on his tail. He ran, got chased by the cops... dropped the amp, and the fat cop couldnt run much more. So he stopped for a breather and let the guy get away. He was never caught and his buddies drove away, probably laughing at the stupidity portrayed by my buddy. Insurance wrote a nice big check again, and everything ended well... Moral of this story? Get an alarm to protect your car. At least if it will attract attention, it will deter theives.

That sucks.
I know the feeling
My Turbo II was broken into this February in my driveway. You should be lucky they broke the window and didnt pry up the door. To get a new handle, fix the door skin, and lock cylinder and paint was around $700. This did not include the $350 JVC MP3 player they stole and the stereo surround they snapped in half.
Now I have a new kenwood MP3 player (x659) and mazdaspeed7 is making me a carbon fiber stereo surround if he ever gets off his ***
Good luck Ziggy

I priced the radio surround and a/c vent at a dealership today. $98 for the surround, and $76 for the a/c vent. That's more then the cd player and radar detector are worth. That sucks.

A friend of mine also had his car broken into about 5 years ago at his apartment complex. The cd player had been bolted in from the back, and the thieves couldn't get it out. Since it was a detatchable face, those bastards just stole the face, but not the cd player. Can you imagine a bigger ******* than that. Since they couldn't steal it, they made it where it was useless. They also stole his cd's, but dumped them in a nearby bush. He has pretty eclectic tastes in music, and the thieves had probably never even heard of any of the bands.

Had someone try to break into my car two nights in a row. They tried prying the door handle out, but only managed to tear up the door. Handle works fine. What's worse- real thieves or bored 14 yr. olds? I guess Playstations don't even keep their attention.

That sux man... I hate thieves... I think they should have thier hands chopped off and sold back to them for the price of whatever it was they stole. That way if they want thier hand back, they gotta give back the **** they stole.. or at least replace it..

Did any of you who got your car broken into have alarms? A decent one costs $300 installed, but it does a very good job of deterring theives. mind you, i added three extra sirens, plus the stock alarm.... god forbid if you set it off accidentally. it will wake the dead. To this day, noone has even attempted to break into my car.

No arguement on having alarms. At the very least they scare away the amateurs. A serious car thief will probably get your car anyway. Never did see the sense in those decals advertising the brand of your alarm. Keep them unsure.

a good idea is to have a separate battery for your alarm somewhere inside the car, because a lot of the time theives can clip your battery cable so the alarm doesnt go off.

i had this **** happend to me too, they broke my driver side window, alarm whent off, they freaked jumped in and ripped my face off. Costed my a $100 to get it back becuz i just got the face, had glass insurance. But last month someone busted into my garage, and the next day we were putting in the deadbolts and my dads truck and my dogs were gone. Bad timing, they broke in and stole $6,000 in tools, My 7 was in there but it was broken down! Thank GOD, i think they knew when the whole engine was apart. Thank god also the other 15k in tools was downstairs. Well in conclusion, my car has a new 500 alarm, and my garage is a fortress, u would need to either smash a car into my garage or a torch to get in, w/o being seen or heard. And the same ppl hit 2 other ppl i know, we got the investigators on them, i know who they are THEY BETTER HOPE I DON"T ARSEN THERE HOUSE! MOTHER ******* u know it, i don't pay around with ********. i could also do that

Well-
There are some areas here where they DO knock holes in the garage wall because the doors and windows are too secure. It's amazing how quiet a sledge hammer on brick can be.
