Some Simple (hopefully) electric q's
Alrighty, here's the deal, im trying to go though and fix EVERY electric that my car has sence i have nothing else to do entill i get my motor. As of now my car has no dash, no engine harness or ECU, the only things disconnected on the drivers side harness is whatever went to the transmision and whatever (if anything, i dont think there was) went to the engine.
Now if i put my batt back in, and hook up all the electric's on the dash, will i beable to check if my soidering worked? I thew my bat in for a min and hooked up the gauge cluster and nothing came on, im willing to bet the bat is dead, its been sitting in the other car that has a electric prob that drains batts
when i turned on to acc i didnt hear beeping or any relays or anythign else, do iu have to hook up anytyhing else to get it to come on?

Is the engine in the car? The Positive battery cable branches out to a lot of things, but the main peice of it ends at the alternator. The negative branches out, and one part of that ends at the starter.

You should be able to slap the battery in and get power. If some grounds are hooked up maybe it won't work, or maybe some fuses, but other than that it should work.

You should just be able to drop in the battery and rock and roll. The main engine ground won't be connected, but that only affects you when you try and start the car - the chassis ground is still hooked up.
Make sure the starter's main terminal is safe and not touching anything - same goes for the alternator's main terminal. If either touches ground and shorts, that's Very Bad.
I'd say your battery is probably dead and that's it. You should be able to mess around and test things in the car with everything as-is.

Hmm, 2nd day and still no electricity, i put the entire dash back in and hooked up all electrics except the blower motor, i dont even get a the door light to come on, im tryign to charge the batt now but the charger is sketchy
Do i have to have the coils in ? there not, but the ground that comes below the trailing coil is still hooked up

Just get the wiring diagrams out of and manual and hardwire the dash straight to the battery (obviously observing the correct voltage is being used!!!) thus skipping all of the hassel. You could also just get a $5.00 ohm meter to test your soldering job... Good Luck.
