So I took off the dash... but I can't get the harness!

umm.. yeah
So i thought after I removed the dash I would find the pretty harness just chillin there waiting fro me to take her off... BUT HELL NO!!! There has to be freaking plastic pieces a/c core, or heater... A BUNCH OF ****!!!...is there a write up? My coils are not firing and we've tried everything, So im trying to get this front drivers side harness off... any help guys? DO i need the harness on the actual dash? also does the harness include the ones that run under the carpet by the driver's and passenger's side back to the lights and stuff? or no?

wow..sounds like a big job just trying to isolate a problem. This is the first time ive heard of people taking off the dash because their coils are not working..I thought AC core and heater are on the passenger side...

COILS DON'T FIRE = REMOVE DASH?

Peruvian,

I am interested to know why you think getting at that front harness (against the interior side of the firewall) will help you with non-firing coils problem.

I'm gutting the entire interior of Mr. Gray right now because the interior wiring for my stereo and alarm are jacked up (thanks to Circuit City idiots) and causing parasitic power drain on my relocated battery. I have my whole dash out right now too. I am planning to remove everything, including the carpeting up to the fire wall, so that I can re-wire and do some more Dyna-Spray and Dyna-matting. But other than rehabilitating the fuse box connections and un-******* the Circuit City wiring, I am not sure how rooting through the interior dash wiring can fix an engine compartment issue. There have to be at least ten engine compartment areas to check out before you rip the dash.

Based on what I see in the FSM, the only way a civilized rotorhead would remove that front harness is to remove the heater and adajcent gear that you have exposed by removing the dash. But I don't see how doing so is going to help with your coils.

Anyway, my two cents. Good luck!

well, the front driver's side harness has the battery cables, altrnator wires, and coil connections... a rotary specialist said he has tried everything else... the car has been dead for 2 months... they replaced everything the coils, the cas, the battery the starter, everythign else on teh car is new read my bottom part... But yeah I have no clue what else it coudl be and noone in this forum was able to help me when i posted teh problem a month ago, it's nto getting fuel pulse and no spark... the guy replaced the ecu and the car started for a 3 minutes then it died... thsi has happeneded before and i bought a new starter and it fired right up but now it wont start...so he said maybe its a short circuit with the alarm system making it be in "still mode" due to the alarm system so yeah... I mean I don;t know... teh car died while i was driving and while it was in gear... this has happened 3 times with in the past 6 months...

Since then the only thing I haven't replaced are the engine harness wiring and the front side harness
