so i have heard
i have heard that with rotory after 100,000 miles the motor begains to go to hell, as with any motor problums begain to occure but are there any specific problums that might happen, that i should know about, sence i am coming close to that mark.

I think that its not the miles that has the most effect on engine life, but its the sitting. Like having the car sit for months/years at a time, then pushing them, then they sit for a while. That has to have a big impact on the life of a rotary.

Bought a new '90 GTU in '90. Did nothing my self to the car other than 3K oil changes and routine maintenance.
Over the first 230,000 miles replaced clutch and drive shaft.. that's it, nothing else broke (2 sets of brakes). Compression lost in rear rotor at 230K. If I had known about the ATF treatment who knows. Put a rebuilt in and she went to 325,000 before rust ended her life.
Moral is simply keeping oil relatively clean and scheduled routine maintenance keeps these great cars on the road and defeats the bad reliability rap.
Most of the problems seen at this site are cars that have had several unknown owners who may not have cared for their ride as they should have. Thus, current well intended RX7 owners are suffering the sins of the jerks who failed to really car for their cars. Its not because the cars themselves have major and fundamental design/quality flaws.
When my first '90 was put to sleep, I was fortunate to get a another very well maintained '90 GXL with 93K which actually runs better than my first one. Cars are like women. Treat them as ladies of class and they will never let you down or disappoint you.

Remember that keeping things clean helps too... 15 years of built up filth is hard to get off your fingers when you work on the car, think what it does to the car itself... That's why my new engine will be kept absolutely sterile hahaha
