Hmm haven't been on in awhile and i see nothing has changed haha.
Unfortunately life took a funny little spin and i ended up putting the mazda on the back burner.
I finally got some things straightened out and got some time for the car. I gave her sort of a tune up with my end of the year bonus check, new oil, filters, plugs, wires, and flushed the radiator. Also new front tires and an updated stereo system.
I thought she deserved a trip up to the mountains for a nice drive past golden and through the tunnel. She was a blast but boy could i feel the difference in altitude haha.
She made it home just fine and i put her in the garage without a care.
I get up in the morning, decide to take her to work, and while on my way i notice a vibration when i accelerate coming from the back near the diff. Thinking it was just unbalanced tires i kept going. I soon then stop at a stop sign, turn, and accelerate. The car vibrates more violently and i hear a bang fwap fwap fwap!
I immediately lose my transmission and the car doesnt go into gear for anything. I think great!
I coast the car to the side of the road, open the door, look under the car and i see my drive shaft just dangling there..Broken from the u joint attached to part that inserts into the transmission..
Long story short, i get her home, grab a spare drive line, put it in, try my best to fill her up with transmission fluid and i try driving her... This is where im stumped. Tranny feels sloppy and will only move in 1st 3rd and 5th. I (think) i can put the car into 2nd 4th and reverse but the car doesn't move.
I probably got a quart and then some in the tranny but cannot seem to get anymore in with it coming out.
Am i wasting my time with the fluid? Is my transmission toast?

Another question arose. I remember reading somewhere about changing counter weight, fly wheel, clutch, etc when changing to a different series of transmission.
I know it applies when swapping to a turbo trans to a Na engine.
but does this rule apply when swapping from a s5 trans to s4?
