smoked interior harness.. need help.
OK, so my interior harness became fried due to a faulty headlight switch. the fuse never popped and it just kept smoldering. I plan on tearing the whole interior of this car out over the winter for a cage install.
However, i want to drive this car right now, but seeing as i dont have any lights i cannot. I would like to be able to just make a completely seperate harness from the stock one. I want a very simple one that just i can just splice into the origional harness at the pigtails.
What all do i need? im ok with wiring for the most part, but i feel like this car has a problem with me.
I dont need the lights to flip up as i am getting BN aero.
Can i use a harness that is meant for fog lights and just run a switch to the running lights and headlights?
Thanks a lot guys, i appreciate it.
Billy

How much of the harness? Is it just the part where it connects to the headlight switch?
If so, that's a smaller harness that gets replaced whenever you replace the headlight switch. [Has a blue connector above your left foot area, remove the speaker in the dashboard to make access easy]

the Green/White wire, as well as the Red/Black wire are fried. All the way through the harness. Even passed the blue connector. the Green/White wire goes to the fuse box, and the Red/Black wire goes through the firewall. they are both melted. The fuse even melted but never popped. I think it was a harbor freight or something..

Can I use a universal fog light harness and just splice into the lights for now? I just need something for the rest of the summer. Car gets stripped and caged this winter.
