Small round spring behind rear main seal??? Any thoughts?

I was screwing around on my old blown engine and was testing out my new counter weight pulling tool. Well when I pull the weight I proceeded on taking out the rear main seal. That was a major bitch to remove, was caked in there. But in the process when i was trying to remove the seal I ended up pulling out a circular small spring. Is this part of the seal? I have never installed the seal myself so I dont know if it is included. looked in the FSM and nothing was found. Just concerned so when I pull the seal in my good engine I wont f*$k anything up. Anyone?

Yes, it's part of the seal.

DO NOT REUSE THEM!

It's a fricken $10 part.
PLEASE REPLACE WITH A NEW ONE!
