just play with the switch..thats the smart way.
turn the ****, as the head light comes up turn it off just half way. you have to feel the half way point..it take practice but doesn't take any modifying of wires.

Pull the fuse is one way.. but also a chore.. having a setup that enables you to do while inside the car is alot better. Hence the reason to investigate into a way to do it via altering the switch.
To the mods, I appologize for bring up my old 240, i was just using it as an example. Thought people would be open minded to the subject instead of bashing on peoples taste.. Thanks

Firstly, you need to learn to use the search function. This has been covered many times before. Pull the fuse; you don't need to cut any wires, and I only tell you that much so that you don't mess up a perfectly good FC worse than you already intend to.
The sleepy eye mod serves no practical purpose and looks stupid. Don't do it.

Just because its common doesn't make it a great idea. That area is a high pressure zone on the FC and probably on that car as well. At speed air will not be vented from that area, air will actually be forced INTO that area. Sure you will see some lowered engine bay air temps simply from the cooler outside air mixing with the air in the engine bay. However, the incoming air will pressurize the engine bay some and will make FMIC and Radiator cooling efficiency go down do to decreased airflow through them... Also, supposedly if you get in a front end collision the probability of the hood coming into the cabin and decapitating you is much higher..
Drift events- cars ran for a short period, then mostly resting idle waiting for the next run. Heat escape out of the vented area.
The whole "decapitating" in an accident is very slim. If your in an accident which would have such a high velocity of impact, expect to get hurt regardless.. esp such an old car as an rx7 with no air bags might i add.
If that is of concern to anyone, then modifying thier car should not be on thier list.
Sorry for being offtopic- Just wanted to defend myself.
