Single Wiper
#26
To those saying it's "gay as hell" does my car (other than the V8 conversion) look bad with only one wiper, especially parked where it does?
XTC7, I mean that you have to both shorten the arm on the wiper (so that the same amount of movement of the linkage arm moves the wiper farther. I said it wrong on the first post... hey, it's been 8 years since I did it...) but also reset the wiper on the splines after the conversion so that it parks correctly. You have to first remove the linkage from the wiper, then rotate the wiper (while still on the slplines) until it goes all the way over to the driver's side. Put the linkage arm up to the lever coming off the wiper and mark where the pivot now lines up on that lever (not the linkage coming from the wiper motor). You will have to shorten the wiper lever to that point. Pull the wiper assy. out and shorten that lever up. Reinstall it. The wiper splines should be in the parked position, but turn the wiper on and off to make sure. Then reinstall the wiper arm in the parked position like mine sits. When you run the wiper after that, it should wipe the entire window. It's not easy, which is why the ricers don't go to this mouch trouble.
Mazda7, I hate to say it, but that front lip is a "universal urethane spoiler" from, of all places, J.C. Whitney. It's a bit deeper and flared a bit more than stock, but looks like a factory piece. It was like $60 at the time, and actually worked quite well... And fit nice with the wraparound rear spoiler I made. BTW, the paint and bodywork was done back in '93, before the Viper GTS showed up, and before the ricers started doing stripes... I was copying the '64 Cobra Daytona Coupe.

The previous owner of my car(stupid *** friend of mine), had the one wiper deal. It looked so retarted....that's one of the first things I did to car....back to two wipers like it's supposed to be.

Altering something like your windscreen wipers just for looks is not just rice, it's dumb. Haven't you ever wondered why one wiper sweeps right up to the driver's side A-pillar? It's because it dramatically increases your vision when it's raining. You only have to sit in the passenger's seat when it's raining to see the huge area of your vision that isn't wiped.

I converted to rhd and the brake booster is now in the way of the wiper motor.
The only thing I'm missing are the jspec arms. Anyone knonw how i can locate the arms? Or would converting to a single wiper be cheaper? Lots of bs on this thread but no real advice to the conversion...???
