Silly spring question

I just got a set of Tien S-Tech springs and they have a brown rubber sleave on the bottom of them. Is that supposed to stay on or do I take them off?

Also, the rear springs are about a 1/2 inch smaller than the perch. Will that be a problem?

the rubber sleave is there to reduce noise and keep the bottoms of the coils from rubbing each other to death. if you have them keep them on.

as long as the rear springs mount on the perch and stay seated then its all good.
