Silicon Vaccum Lines?

Just wonder if you guys like these, I've differn't opinions on them myself, that they slip off to easily and cause vaccum leaks from time to time.....what you guys think?

Well you can look at them as an upgrade or as useless.

I see both sides of the arguement:

Side one the upgrade guys(I do have silicone lines in my car BTW) The silicone doesn't harden with heat or age and therefore makes it simpler to disassemble and move things around without having to break loose old rubber lines.

Side two USELESS side: While the silicone will not get hard the rubber lines lasted whell over 10 years without problem. The only reason I personally bought silicone lines is because my old lines kept breaking on me since they were baked already. But the Regular rubber lines are going to hold up just fine for many years to come also.

It depends on personal preference I guess

They have worked well for me so far. I installed mine about a month and a half ago. A lot of my lines were getting brittle so I ordered some off of hosetechniques.com

As for the slipping off issue, mine are quite solid on all the nipples. I checked them all about a week after install and I did not see or feel anything wiggling loose.

yes they work to this day with no problems. But If you really think about it. Rubber lines will hold up for a long time too.

i replaced ALL my old lines with sillicon lines but till i had to

i removed my UIM and TB last winter and ended up breaking some lines so i bought some just for the ones i broke and liked them so much i ended up doing them all

i think its a good thing if you think its rice and you still wana replace your lines you can get rubber ones just like stock but they will become hard and brittle just like your stock ones did

Santiago's right (it had to happen some time... ), the stock lines have lastest well over ten years, and new rubber ones will too. There's no need to pay Mazda's prices either; it's much cheaper to buy it off a roll.

If silicone line didn't come in bright colours, nobody would buy it.

To make easy work of vac line replacement, use long nose pliers with bent tips.

That way you can pull straight back and twist loose a stuck line without breaking the fragile plastic nipples on the solinoids.
