Silence!!!
Ok, this powersteering beeping is driving me nuts and its only been one day. I've searched around and can't find a definative answer on how to get the beeping stopped. I took my powersteering pump out this morning since I never used it anyways and now the stupid computer thinks something is .wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

When I took my power steering out I got no beeping. That is with engine speed type steering assist though, was yours speed sensing? I don't know if it makes a difference or not. Have you checked the oil and coolant levels to be sure it's not that?

please stop answering if you don't have a clue... Driftc87, black91n/a, and hellkat have all proved they are clueless in regards to the problem in this thread.
If you have removed the power steering pump and are getting the beeping (as covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this, the 2nd gen technical section) then you need to also remove the power steering computer.
If you remove the power steering pump, you must remove the power steering computer. Don't half *** it, do it right. The power steering computer is located behind the driver's dash speaker.
You do not want to pull the fuse, as you disable everything else using that same fuse.
You don't want compare a lame S5 car with engine speed sensing steering and think that it is even halfway close to a S4 with Vehicle speed sensing power steering.
And you don't want to confuse the power steering computers diagnostic beeps with the beeps of the door being open.
In fact you don't even want to answer if you don't know the correct answer. Instead you want to use the search fucntion found at the top right hand corner of the page, and locate this commonly asked problem.

Power antenna amp, starter kill relay, rear window defog relay are all on that same circuit using the same fuse as the power steering computer.

"The hate is strong with him" (Icemark's hate for the S5). Although, I admit that the PS system in the S4 is a better design.
I don't usually post when I'm not sure of something, I just posted about my experiances hoping that it might help.
This one's just for Icemark:
Long live the S5 in it's utter supremacy, and complete domination over the S4! Newer = Better!

As posted countless times, the S5 taillights look like something from a 87-88 Tbird. I guess if you like the Tbird look. They just do not tie into any other pre-FD RX-7.
The dumb S5 embossed front bumper is pretty bad (at least aftermarket got that right and deleted it-even on the collsion parts they deleted it)
The S5 wheels on the Turbo and GTUs look like they were stolen from a Mercury Sable (why didn't they use the 16" BBS wheels like the Infini III and IV got???)
The S5 mouse belts on the coupe is a abomination.
The S5 interior door panels and aero kit for the Turbo, they did get right though. The S5 Logicon is also a much better unit (too bad they cheaped out on all the other electronics). Also for the average driver the S5 Viscous LSD is a much better choice (too bad they dropped it on 90% of the models that had a LSD on the S4s).
But generally the heavier, softer, cheaper built S5 models just don't do much for me. Maybe if Mazda actually improved the car, I could live with the lame leftover Ford parts bin cosmetics.
You know, improved would have been the same weight as a S4 yet had a reliable PD, electronics, MOP, etc. and non of the short cuts, like the S5 plastic end links for the stabilizer bars, and S4 engine speed sensing steering (I guess you could argue that the engine speed sensing steering is lighter).

Oh calm down now, I'm just teasing.
Canadian S5's have regular seatbelts, so I'm spared that craptacular "feature".
Admittedly some of the design features on the S4's are better, but that doesn't make the S5's bad.
I happen to prefer the S5 styling, and I like the fact that they're newer and less used (on average). My car was in much better condition than any of the S4's I looked at when car shopping, so that biased my opinion. I've also had very little go wrong with my car, so to me it's very reliable (electronics included). I don't like the black moldings on all the S4's, to me it really make the cars look old (other than on black cars). To some extent newer parts will be more reliable than older better designed or built parts. I can't imagine how the average 86 would even come close to being as nice inside as the average 91, as they're so much older (20 years old now, for the 86).
To each his own though, you like S4's, I like S5's and neither of us are "wrong", it's just a personal preference.

I find it moderately amusing that it was a moderator who started off this whole thing with his rant. I would have thought that moderators should be more "moderate"?
This thread sure did go off topic quickly. I feel for the poor guy who started it, all of the recent posts have nothing to do with his problem.
NeCr0mStR: You should be careful who you insult, there are many engineering students (me included) and engineers on this forum.

The point of engineering is not to get offended when people call somethign as they see it. It's to find a problem and fix it.
Of course, much like a mechanic, never trust an engineer with clean/soft hands

I agree 100%. Bean counters are bad for good design, and other engineers and students are more likely to see it.
I wans't offended, but you can never be too careful in this overly sensitive PC world we live in.
I don't forsee myself ever being a clean handed engineer (not that I won't wash them once I'm through getting them dirty).

i gotta say mark, your T2vert is CLEAN, i was looking at it when it was parked, and when you left and came back the the targa section off.....you know, ive never figured out how to take the targa section off,i mean, i havent really looked or tried but, i also dont know which clips im looking and whatnot
I have never been a fan of sunrise red, but, i could totally over look that, what exhaust are you running? it looked and sounded nice
Damn it, now im curious, how do you just take the targa section off?
thanks, lol

Would that be more moderate???
Following the 2nd gen technical section rules I should have.
Instead, I just called you on it, and now you post crap about the volunteer job that moderators spend multiple hours daily helping this board with??? Do you think moderators should not have an opinion?? Shouldn't have feelings??
I guess so.
