Exclamation Should my BOV...

I just bought a blitz SS BOV for my T2 with the stock intercooler up pipe replacement so it bolts right into a stock set-up. My question is how I should have the BOV set. When I drop the clutch at 8lbs boost it realeases pressure just fine. However, if I release the accelerator, no clutch, it does not relieve pressure even at 8+ lbs. boost. I'm afraid that built up pressure if not released may be harming my system. Should the BOV release when I let off the gas under boosting conditions? If so, should I loosen the BOV? I'm currently boosting 10-12lbs.
Thanks,
Damon

Thanks for the tip. I've loosened it as far as possible and still can only hear pressure release at about 8lbs or more when I let off the gas.

Do you hear compressor surge? If not then the valve is probably doing its job.

It depends. Sometimes, turbos are so big (late boost) that when you shift at low RPM you can't hear teh BOV.

I have a stock turbo and notice that above 5000rpm and high boost the bov always releases loudly. below that and it's almost innaudible. What does compressor surge sound like?
Thanks,
Damon

After a little searching I confirmed what i thought compressor surge sounded like. My T2 doesn't indicate any compressor surge. I guess the problem is that it barely makes a sound to let me know if it's working until I reach 9-10lbs. or 5000rpm. Is this OK?

it sounds like a shock wave bouncing back and forward to me like a chirp that keeps on echoing

thanks guys! I think I'm going to put my stocker BOV on until i get a Greddy RS. If anyone wants to buy my Blitz SS with Up pipe for stock mounting set-up let me know. It sounds nasty at high rpm and boost. I'll sell it 130.00 shipped in U.S.
Thanks,
Damon

IIRC, the more you loosen the nut, the tighter the piston gets... try tightening it down and see what happens...
