fwiw, i recieved my ebay short shifter today. $80 for some off brand somethin or other. It took a little work to grind down the top bushing, but it works now. It's a stiff shift, but the throw is much shorter. Of course I get rattling, even the high dollar ones will rattle in a percentage cars and the companies that make them will tell you that. Just putting it out there that sometimes you can get away with cheap, you don't always gotta spend a lot of $ to get something that works for you.

I got one off e-bay too, it does seem a little chinsy, but came w/ all the supporting hardware and sure did notice a shorter more precise throw. The little plastic bushing on the bottom was about +1mm to big and that had to be fixed/mod'd, and it rattles quite a bit...

I sure hope it doesn't break, but I'm not slammin hella gears yo...

Its held up fine so far.

so your choices are:
ebay - cheap, get what you pay for
mazdatrix - $200, but easy to get
c's - $200, a little more difficult to find
mazdaspeed - $345, corksport
re-amemiya - hard to find

and when these guys are asking you to search, they mean search this forum using the search function located at the top. not so much google, yahoo, etc. and this topic has been covered a whole lot, numerous times, so understand where they're comming from.

see what i mean: https://www.rx7club.com/search.php?searchid=4686219

i believe i DID say that i searched this sight, as well as the Ohio Rotaries sight, as i live in Ohio. And i also stated that you can never find exactly what your looking for, which 90% of the time is true. So i asked about what im exactly looking for. If they've seen this topic so much, then why would they open this thread and look at it? Thats not my fault.

Not too worried about a short throw anymore anyway. Dont have the extra cash right now. Gotta get the Seven running right first! :P
