So i was driving back home the other day and all of a sudden I feel vibration. I go to down shift and pull over and the whole shifter lever just came out, literally. Apparently the screws that attach to the plate that holds the shifter in place came out. I have a diagram from the dealor of the parts that i need, gasket, washer, and bolts, but it's sat and the dealor isn't open. Does anyone know the specs to the bolts off hand, I should be able to pick up these parts at any parts store with the right measurements. I can provide pictures if needed. Also, there's a hook inside of where the lever sits into the assembly. Is that supposed to go around the bottom ball part of the lever? Sorry if I'm confusing anyone, but if you've ever replaced the lever, you'll know what i'm talking about. Feel free to msg me on AIM if needed. S/N: L1ttL3D1g1ts.
Thanks alot guys, i'm stuck without a car right now until i get this figured out

Can't help with the bolts, but there area bushings and spring washers that go with the shift lever. Best to get the workshop manual and parts catalog from one of the free download site at links in the 2nd gen FAQ. Also, go to Mazdatrix.com for more info on installing the bushings. They have a short video that shows how to replace the bushings. That should show you what I'm referring to. Good luck!
BTW, the bolts will be metric, so be careful when selecting replacements. Best to get the parts from Mazda.

That would be one of your return springs. The ball does not go inside the hook. When you put the shifter back in, the bottom ball will push the spring to the side.
