shifter noise
when i drive the area where the shifter is gives out a screaching sound as i accel. i thought it was cuz my bushings were gone but i replaced them and it still makes the sound. is this normal and is there a way to silence it?

I would check the Fluid level in your Transmission.Also when you Changed the bushings,did you add some Fluid to the Upper shifter Housing?..(take a look at www.mazdatrix.com..look up short throw shifter for an FC..they have a Video of the guy putting some fluid in the shifter Bushing area).

After cleaning the shifter hole, this is a good time to put the oil in the shift tower. We use 90W trans/diff oil. Fill to around middle of shift rod.
side note, mine makes whinning noises too, i just figure its the gear ratio or whatever, does it on decel more though
