Unhappy She Died--> Need Info on a J-spec motor

Okay, she died. The rear rotor is blown. 0 psi on compression. I bought the car at just under 100,000 miles. It now has just over 110,000. I am interested in purchasing a used J-spec motor if the price is right. If I cant find a deal, she is going to the bone yard...

Check Libero USA. They sell S5 turbo motors for $650 plus shipping. I've experienced two of them one for my s5 one for a friends. So far they've been 100%

I cant believe all the people who blow engines in perfectly good cars, and just becuase of that you decide to either part the car out or sell it.

I blew my engine, yes, and right now im slowely workin on making the car massively upgraded from engine to brakes to tires. Dont give up man, Jspecs are still just used dirty old engines that are nothing better then cores. Trust me, the only way your gonna get outta this with the least amount of problems and most reliability is to rebuild your current engine.

If you decide to rebuild yourself, it can cost less then 1k for all the tools/gaskets/rental of engine hoist/seals

BTW the wiring harness come cut, so keep as many things on your car intact as you will be using them. I would also suggest swapping the A-Spec manifolds over to the motor you receive.

I got mine from Nippon motors, and it runs great.

darkwaveboi has a good point, they are USED engines. The only reason I got one was because it came with everything I needed to do my t2 conversion. I would go with a Kevin Landers rebuild if you plan on keeping the car for any length of time.

I don't Red Rotary Rocket realizes that all J-Spec engines are turbo engines. He has a GXL, thusly it's non-turbo.

What you SHOULD do is have Kevin Landers, aka Hypntz7 rebuild your engine. He charges $1000 for a rebuild. Check out his website at www.rotaryresurrection.com

Oh, if you decide to get rid of it, PLEASE don't give it to a boneyard.
