That's how i'm shaving my antenna and trim recesses. Glass mat, glass fiber hair and then bondo leveling filler and then glazing.
Glass mat works well to use behind the hole, I wouldn't have used alot of hardener. A longer cure time makes it stronger and more uniform i feel, not enough makes the **** run. I had dents all over my last car that i had to pull, fill and level. Come to think of it i didn't have much fun but it turned out well and you could not tell it had ever had dings/dents of any kind.
I'm not a pro. I'm not a noob but definately not a pro.
On your own personal car, if it lasts more than a few years it's damn good enough.
