Serious Thread RE: Stand-Alones and Harness Modification

Well TTT, I think it's about time to resurrect this thread from the depths of hades. I don't know if you're still on the forum or not, but I may have to ask you to build me one of your blanks for the dash, as I've figured out a way to keep only 1 sensor in the engine while still getting the signal to the ecu and to gauges. I've been pricing everything out for my project and although I'd love to say I have enough for everything, I do not. I'll drop you a PM in the hopes you see both this thread and the specific details in the PM.
With regard to the WideBand and getting the signal directly to the ECU and to the gauge to make sure I do not run lean--I've figured it out. I'd like your input on this to tell me if I'm thinking straight of if i'm off my rocker: Direct hook up with the WBO2 sensor to the MXXX series, then have an output with a 0-5v analoge output put into a wide band gauge (one available from prosport--digital type). That should maintain the data's signal to the ECU and the ECU can then modulate it out to the gauge. This is then set up similarily for the EGT gauges and the boost gauge (unless I go mechanical). Since the rest of the gauges will be in the stock location and hooked up in roughly a similar to stock wiring this should take care of all my data-logging needs, and still provide me with the appropriate gauges to see where my engine's at a glance.

I like where your head is at regarding the input directly to the ECU and then an output to run a gauge. I do not think that the Motec can support running an anolog gauge though. I would call them directly though to confirm. Sadly if it cannot than that whole idea is shot. I would give some very VERY serious thought to an AIM digital dash. It can be programmed to do virtually anything regarding read-out that you may want and it won't eat up any outputs from the Motec ECU as the communications is all CAN. This is my route but with one exception, I plan on running an anolog boost gauge as well. One of the newer stepper motor designs.

The PM's have also been edited to keep 'off the radar' persons off the radar. So, on with it already.

Hi. I'm a off the radar person. So what's your beef with off the radar people? I mean, you can't even figure out what the FPR solenoids roll in life is and you write that? Geeeez.

No, what he means is the guy that I found was hesitantly rec'd to me through Motec. He's local to me and when I actually got a chance to meet the guy he expressed to me how he has gone to great lengths to keep his contact info away from kids and idiots. He's a 2 man operation and a very professional one. He doesn't have the time nor the inclination to answer a bunch of questions and create estimates for people who are never going to move on thier projects. It's a waste of time and for people like him that own his own business, time is money. He was very hesitant to take on my project. I basically had to convince him that I had the cash in hand to pay for his time and the $4,200 ECU. 98% of his clientel are either pro race teams or very well financed individuals. How many people roaming the 2nd Gen section fit that profile? I am not saying who he is becuase I don't want his inbox and voice-mail flooded with retarded questions. It takes away the precious time that he has for me and other serious people. This was his wish too.
