Question Sealant for Auto. Trans. Gasket

I am replacing the gasket, and the one I got from Mazda appears to be some sort of fiber board and is fairly hard. The one I removed was rubber over cardboard and was soft and had no sealant.

Should I use an RTV sealant on the new gasket?

Thanks,
Arnold

Sure, it won't hurt.
Just don't get real crazy and overdo it.
