because the vert seal goes to the edge of the door where the coupes stop at the edge of the window sill.

Correct. There is no Window frame for the strip to stop on.

And for you guys that keep getting your tops cut: why do you keep locking your cars?
Ive never had a cut top... and I've never locked the door.
I keep valuables in the trunk with the trunk pop disabled.

a more important question is why are you living in the ghetto instead of moving into a place with a LOCKABLE garage?

What about the factory alarm in the 88 Vert? Mine has one which seems to operate through the locks, if you unlock the trunk the red light stays on on the console. I do not have a drivers handbook and I do not think the Haynes book has any information. It only went off once in the 4 years I have had the car, I assume someone bumped into it when it was parked.
Any info on the alarm guys?

So he unlocks your door with a coat hanger.

I had that happened before to my other car. Windows are hard to replace because its hard to find one.
Lucky you; I had mine shot with a pellet gun for sport. Shattered the window but the tint held it in place and they didn't even bother knocking it out to steal anything. Also left about 10 little dents in the door where they kept shooting it over and over.
