SAFC ,s4 s5?
well guys first off i wanted to know the difference between a s4 or s5. I used the search thing but couldn't find out what the difference is? SEcond thing is that i have a 1987 n/a. I am looking for easy horsepower gains and thought about using a safc1 or 2? Would it be a good idea or worth it to use on a n/a?

S5 has lighter higher compression rotors than S4, there is many other differences but that is the main one between the engines. an SAFC will only net you gains if you use it conjunction with mods, get mods and an SAFC then tune the SAFC after each mod and upgrade the fuel system accordingly and then you will notice gains not just by installing an SAFC alone.

basically there were 2 generations of the FC.. think of it as the FCa and FCb
S stands for Series... Series 4 series 5 and FD is Series 6
u can most easily tell the difference by lookin at the trim around the bumpers and car.. if they're black.. S4 if they match the body S5...
the S5 has approx 15 more HP then the S4 as well...
i wouldn't bother with the AFC until after u have the other bolt-ons... Intake, Exhaust, headers, Emissions emoval (if u want)
perform some reliability mods, and don't forget a good tune up can go along way... change the plugs, wires, fuel/oil/air filter, check the timing adjust as necc, check compression...etc
after ALL of these things.. then an AFC might prove to be an advantage to u...

nice thanks guys. How do I check the timing? I know how to on a piston motor but not on a rotisserie! And also I have a cone filter. It's not a k&n but can i use my k&n recharge kit to clean it out?
