SAFC reads 0.0 AFL more fuel=lower idle?!?!

ok heres the deal, i was trying to fix my damn idle. i adjust the bac and when i adjust the idle mixture screw by the pass fender nothing happens. im like WTF?!?! before when i touched that screw i could increase the idle speed. when i look at my SAFC it reads 0.0 AFL. this can't be right becasue the other night it was working. on the setting fot low throttle when i increase (+) the fuel my idle drops and when i decrease (-) the mixture the idle goes up. is there anything that i can do to test the idle mixture adjuster? do i have to get another one?

thanks

You don't really need the idle mixture adjuster, if you care that much about it you can use your safc in the same way.

My idle mixture adjuster broke and is currently in the trash, no biggie

what about when i adjust the fuel, is it normal when you turn the mixture up to make the idle speed lower? do i have a bad afm?

thanks

AF1 has little to do with the richness/leanness of the mixture. AF1 is the position of the flap in the AFM. You should go to ETC and look at SENSOR and see what the voltage is that is displayed for AF1. If it reads zip, then you need to repair the wiring to the SAFC or??????

Is it possible that you were messing around with the SAFC and accidently move the settings? Like maybe changing it from FLAP to something else?

Adding/Subtracting fuel does the same thing for me in lo-throttle. Think about it, the more fuel you add the more it will bog your system down from running richer, the more fuel you take out the leaner/smoother it will run (to a point).

As a general rule, the richer mixture will make the engine run smoother. A lean mixture will cause those poo, pooh, pooh, misses at idle. Looking at a wideband I see a smoother idle at 12.5 than 13.5. If I set it to 14whatever, it idles rough and misses.
