Unhappy sad day for me

got my car back from the local mech after a new clutch install 4 days lator its starting to go to hell TO bearing makeing noise wanting to grab but not in the normal smooth way

clutch that was orderd was an XTD peace of crap found out 2 hours after i orderd it they were scamming people

but the clutch was rated for 350hp so i thought it would hold up to Normal driveing under a almost stock car maby 10hp more =p

nope took it back to the mech for a replacement chosen by them i just need a car

I know next to nothing about this, but I've always been led to believe 'bigger is better'.

So, when I was trying to make my LT1 Z28 fast and strong, I ordered up a Centerforce Dual friction unit. Man, when I got it back from the shop I accused the clutch of being total crap and the shop for not resurfacing the flywheel.

Most likely it was too much clutch for the few bolt ons I had. The theory behind it was that a stronger clutch would be almighty- grab stronger, last longer-which I no longer think is the case. It was a racing clutch, NOT street. Heavy duty and race has no place on the street. We need normal.

On a track you feather the clutch once per race, on the street you are constantly using the clutch around town and in stop-and-go. Totally different needs.

So, my advice is to get a unit that can withstand some abuse with it being purpose built for longevity VS higher grabbing power or whatever they advertise them for.

Whenever in doubt go with factory. Durable wins hand down.
