s6 seat switch
Everybody,
I would like to upgrade out my seats, but I don't want to shell out $400+ for an adjustable racing seat. Is it possible to use gen 3 seats in my s4? If so, what rails would I use? could I use my stock rails? Thanks.

What is it about the seats that you're looking to upgrade? If they're worn and that's why you want to replace them then another option would be to have them recovered. There should be some places around your area that can do it.
I recall seeing a few posts about people putting FD seats in FC's and they had to make adaptors to fit the FC sliders on the FD seats, so they are not a bolt in affair. They also commented that the seats ended up being taller than the FC seats, reducing headroom, and they won't be much more supportive if any.
There are some cheaper aftermarket reclining seats that are of decent quality. A pair of Corbeau A4's can be had for under $600 for instance.
One more thing. There's no such thing as an adjustable back racing seat. It's all marketing. True racing seats are all fixed back single piece units.

I have FD seats in My s4.
I have to say, they are awesome, but they do sit higher in the car. IMO they are way more supportive than stock T2 seats.
If you want FD seats though, have fun making the brackets.

I think it all depends on your body shape and how you normally sit as a driver. I think FD seats are more comfortable for around town but they don't support me personally as well in a turn.
Go drive somebody's FD. Make sure you really like them before you spend all that trouble acquiring them and making them fit.
