S5T2 Housings
I was looking for a rotor housing for a 1990 T2 and I noticed that almost all of the listings I found said that the S5 housings did not include the 1992 year model.
Is there a difference between the 89-91 T2 housings and the 1992 T2 housing?
Also, I have a good housing that came from a 1990 T2 but it has a knock sensor on it? T2s didn't have knock sensors, did they?

if i recall, it's because there was no T2 in 1992. the Series 5 Turbo II ran from 1989 to 1991. as they transitioned into the release of the FD, i think i read that the only NEW Rx-7s for model year 1992 were actually the convertible, which as you should know, was not available turbocharged.
and yes, the Series 5 Turbos did have the knock sensors.

the t2 has a knock sensor, every 89+ rotor housing has a spot for it above the spark plugs.
the FD started production 12/28/91, so this would be why there are no 92 FC's except the vert

there really was no 1992 model, it was leftovers from the 1991 model year that were produced late before production ceased.
almost every parts catalog does not include 1992 as a model year for the FC3S, because they really were not 1992 models even if someone told you it was.
just use the 89-91 model year housings, you can use a series 6 '93-95 housing for the front but you need the turbo II housing for the rear for the turbo coolant feed. that is about the extent of mixing up housing series'.
