s5 TII more rare than FD?
Whats up guys, youll have to excuse my ignorance. I owned an FD for the past 2 years and got in an accident a few weeks ago (check my old posts). Anyways, long story short, the insurance went up even though it was proved that it wasnt my fault, and seeing as how I'm only 21, neither my dad or I could continue paying for it. Soooo, the FD is in the process of being sold. Now, I know it would be impractical to jump back on to another turbo car, but damn! I can't find any other car I would enjoy driving. So, I'm lookin thru autotrader for a s5 TII, and I found like 3!!! Are those cars that rare?? It seems like FDs are much easier to find. Also, are FCs any more reliable than the FDs. Mine was a jewel and almost never acted up, but would it be worth me getting back into a rotary..and turboed at that?? I think the TurboIIs are gorgeous, and it has just enough power to keep me satisfied. I daily drove the FD and it beahved extremely well. If I take of the FC, I would assume it'll treat me the same right? Or should I just drop the RX7 idea all together and suck it up and drive an old accord.
Anyways, tell me what you guys think.

Damn! WEll, after several hours of not studying for my last final (stupid!!) I have come to the realization that in my situation it would prob. be best to go for a 89-91 GTU. It doesn't have the power, but 0-60 in 7.6s isnt THAT bad. PLus I could manage to squeeze an extra 20hp or so out of it with a grand. Oh yeah, did the hood scoop come on any other model than the TII? I could of sworn I've seen it on the GTU or somethin.

Go with an 86-87 sport , or 88 gtu, cheaper, faster, lighter + hard suspension, aero and 4 pot brakes is good,.. cept s5's look better and have a nicer interior,... depends on what kinda a person you are i guess. But the 6 HP difference int he motors is negligable.

Nothing to see here.

I only saw two S5 TIIs at the Revolution--and both were '89s. Didn't see any 91s in the country on Autotrader last time I checked either.

Think about it this way...
1993 ==== \
1994 =====> 3 different models for 3 years.
1995 ==== /
1989 ==== \
1990 =====> 1 out of 5 or 4? different models for 3 years.
1991 ==== /
Of course the volume is going to be much lower than that of FD's. However in Japan I am sure the numbers are closer in terms of how many were made, seeing as how all fc's were turbo in Japan,
So there is your common sense answer.
Good luck finding one of those bastards! They are hard to come by as hell!

Or just find a S4 if you can't find an S5. Insurance on my TII is next to nothing on mine. I spend 60 a month for full coverage, versus 200 a month for my 2002 Impreza..

if you live'd in canada you could get yourself an 89 rx7 gtr , RHD you only gotta pay to ship it. It's 15 years old so you don't have to comply with epa and dot.

thanks for the info guys. IMpreza2rx7, have u dynoed your car anytime with all the mods in your sig? I wonder how much you can get out of the s4tII with exhaust, downpipe, CAI, and the other "not very helpful" power bolt-ons. Also, if I did get an S4, I would def. get some sort of body kit for it.
Frestylereaction...how much you sellin it for??
