s5 omp limp mode solution??
#2
questioning if it works or advertising?
i don't think it will cure fail mode for the OMP and i'm not even sure why he felt it was necessary to make a controller when the stock ECU works fine for mapping the oil pump stepper motor.
waste of money and no i don't believe it will cure your issue. it's basically for people who are running a standalone and want to keep the piece of crap stock metering pump.

Not everyone feels like dumping a quart of 2stroke into their fuel tank at every fill up. Sometimes I can't even find the stuff at a fuel station.
OP: That will not cure limp mode. That's a function of the factory ECU when it sees that the stock OMP is not moving when it's given the command to move. As Karack stated, it's only for those running an aftermarket ECU and wanting to keep the S5 OMP, as there are none that I know of that will control the OMP.

If you limp mode is caused by a OMP failure its best to make sure your ECU isnt fried.
About the cheapest way out is if your ECU is good send it off for a stage one Rtek that will eliminate the limp mode for omp failure, and then start premixing or put on a S4 omp. Vastly more expensive is to replace the failed omp and ecu if its bad.

although i don't really see what the fuss is with pre-mixing, i carry around a gallon of 2 stroke oil in the car and that lasts several thousand miles and takes 30 seconds to add prior to filling and has multiple benefits with the only con being time and effort during fill up. if the eomp is removed and not spinning it probably will never put the car into limp mode, but i haven't actually tested a bad one to see if it will or not.

i guess you haven't priced out a new eomp. used ones may last you a day, month, year or maybe several years if lucky. i have no idea why they priced them so high.. i realize pre-mixing isn't for everyone but the eomp needs a workaround since they're failing left and right these days. the mechanical S4 pump worked just fine, but i guess that wasn't good enough for them so they had to add another failure point and price it accordingly.

S3 for a first gen crossmember, S4 for a second gen crossmember...
I'm working on grafting a second gen crossmember into a first gen and using an S5 engine in it. S4 front cover with OMP and the OMP is gonna be tapped for an external feed from a reservoir... Level sensor in the reservoir is going to go in series with the +12 volts to the ECU, so limp mode is going to be a tow truck/long walk to a store.
