S5 NA using Turbo housing --- how loud it will be ?

I'm in the middle of rebuilding the engine, trying to decide if I want to "just rebuild it with same thing" or "get some porting done to get at least a bit extra juice out of the car". I want to keep it NA tho.

This is not about making OMG 100 extra HP ! I just wonder how "loud" it will be if I use ported Turbo housing

I know NA housing comes with a "wing" at the exhaust port, its a cheap way Mazda use to minimize the muffling cost. Turbos don't need the wing because the turbine will keep the noise down (somewhat)

So in a scale of 1-10 , 1 = not much, 10 = will make you deaf. Assume everything else is stock except ported Turbo Housing for NA, how loud will it be ?

I tried to search but found no direct answers.

Why I want to know? cuz NYPD is at "full force" giving people tickets and I don't want them to bother me for "your car is too loud." which happened to some of my friends.

Thanks.

I built a 6 port using t2 housings for my first gen. and i think it sounds just a hair louder than my t2. Both cars have Racing Beat pre-silencers and mufflers.

It wont be too much louder, on a 1-10 I'd say a 2. Just keep in mind that the turbo housing, at least the rear one, has a hole in the water jacket to feed water to the turbo through the LIM. That will have to be blocked off somehow.

Just kidding... it sounds like a ******* storm on wheels because it's running with the stock header and no exhaust
