S5 NA motor sometimes acting funny?

ok...

sometimes in the morning when i want to start my car it wont start... it will like sputter and die and NOT start...

BUT

i can get it started if i keep pushing the gas..

but it will either be like really bad idling like sputtering and/or the engine will shake for a few seconds... i can correct it if i hold the rpms at around 2-3k and it will be fine and the car will idle perfectly...

it has done this one other time like a week ago but i just pumped the gas and it started fine.... i didnt think much of it since it didnt do it anymore..

anyone have any ideas what might be causing this sometimes?

btw my car is a daily driver so its not the issue of it sitting..

My car does this too. The only known problems I have is my TPS. I think my injectors are leaking too, because it runs really rich sometimes.

Leaking injectors would be the number one cause.

Maybe airflow meter is starting to fail?

what you dont understand is that s5's have their equivalent to pms every month. Let it sit for a few days or overnight, all will be good

i let it sit for a whole day... and it still is doing it...

also even when the engine is warm and at operating temp...

i really need a solution for this because cranking and not starting is a pain in the ***..

iam hoping nothing major is wrong... i thought it would be flooded but after it starts its fine...

Leaky injector(s) + poor compression?
If I'm correct, and someone let me know if I'm wrong, the S5's have a sort of built in flood prevention. Just hold the gas to the floor when you start cranking.
I would say that if this cures your situation, then you should check your compression, and injectors.

just my 2 cent's

I have a similar problem on my ser 5 na. When it's warm, the idle starts bouncing funny and sometimes the engine actually turns off. I can crank and crank and it won't start back up but If I hold the pedal to the floor sometimes that gets it started.
